The Roosevelt Park Zoo is hiring for the position of Zoo Veterinarian. This is a full-time, benefitted position employed through the Minot Park District.
We are seeking an individual who possesses a high-level of professionalism, energy and self-motivation to provide quality veterinarian care for the animals at Roosevelt Park Zoo. This position has the direct responsibility and accountability for providing veterinarian care and preventative health program according to industry standards and AAZV best standards. Job responsibilities include: all aspects of veterinarian care both preventative and emergent, management of clinical caseload, managerial oversight regarding the species specific dietary and nutritional needs of animals. Other responsibilities include: detailed medical record keeping (ZIMS), leadership skills needed to provide zookeeper education and instruction, mentoring of veterinary interns and students. The Veterinarian serves as a member of the Zoo’s Animal Welfare Committee. Candidate must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and forecast veterinarian needs of animals.
Must be a graduate of accredited veterinary medical college with DVM, VMD or equivalent.

Candidate must be able to secure State of North Dakota Veterinary Medical license and DEA licensing. Must also be accredited by USDA’s National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) Category II Veterinarian. A wide array of knowledge and experience working with exotic and domestic species, both large and small animals, is preferred.
