Sierra Valley Large Animal Veterinary Services a family-oriented practice looking to expand with an additional veterinarian to help service our growing clientele. We are located in the beautiful Sierra Valley. This area is the best of both worlds with wide open spaces and an affordable cost of living, yet Reno, NV is just 30 minutes away. There is an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, boating, camping, and Truckee/Lake Tahoe is only about 1 hour away. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, and energetic individual to add to our staff. We strive to care for our patients and clients as a team effort and collaborate and discuss cases routinely. Our practice is mostly equine with some cattle and small ruminant work and is about 70% ambulatory and 30% haul-in. We see a variety of types of horses, ranging from backyard pets to english and western show horses. We have a fully equipped clinic with a large treatment area, stocks, 3 ICU stalls, surgical suite with padded recovery/induction room, and a detached 4 stall barn with runs. At the clinic we have a large gravel area and round pen for lameness exams. Equipment on hand includes 1 digital radiography unit, 2 Exago ultrasound machines, power dentistry (Power float and Terafloats), in house labs, in house endoscopy, and 3 mobile units (diesel trucks with vet packs). Our current staff includes 2 full time and 1 part time veterinarian, and we have a consulting board certified surgeon who does in clinic appointments and surgeries 1-2 days per week. We have 2 full-time and 2 part-time assistants to assist with appointments and emergencies. Position is available May 2021 or possibly sooner and will be 3-4 scheduled days per week with shared on call rotation (split between 3-4 doctors). Applicant should have at least 1 year in clinical practice or have completed an equine oriented internship. We perform ambulatory calls in California and Nevada and applicant will need to be licensed in California and Nevada. Salary commensurate with experience, and benefits include CE allowance, dental insurance, health insurance stipend, licensure, professional memberships, practice vehicle and cell phone.
