Looking to get your hands dirty, skills expanded and belly sore from laughing? 
We’ve got you covered!!

• Housing provided to all externs 
• We feed you most meals
• We will transport you to and from the airport (if need be)
• Bring your pets - we don't mind. They can either stay at our boarding facility, or in your room if you're comfortable. 
• We will take you to the beach, the state park to see some gators, out fishing, or to the museum on our down time and let you check out our piece of Texas.  
• We've hosted dozens of students, from all over the US, Canada and Internationally. One fundamental rule exists - we want students who are engaged and want to have fun and learn! 

How about vet med - oh ya... externships.

We are a team of 6 recent grad DVMs 2012-2022 (TAMU, 2xOSU, OVC, Ross, UofI) who love to practice awesome medicine and mentor our future colleagues! 

• Would you like to get some cutting time in and not only scrub in for, but be lead surgeon (with supervision and guidance by one of our DVMs) on some cool cases? We make it happen.  Previous students have completed OVHs, neuters, enucleations, etc. 
• Aching to work on your technical skills? IV catheters, anesthetic monitoring, emergency and critical care techniques, bandaging, wound management, and CPR are all areas where you'll get to be a first hand participant. 
• Wanting to work up cases, and discuss with other recent grads how they've learned to communicate with clients, methodically work through diagnostic results and solidify treatment plans... we do that as a team every day.
• If the interest is there - participate in scheduled and emergency large animal calls to everything from routine preventive care, to dystocias and companion large animal medicine cases. 
• We also see an array of exotic and zoo species. You are welcome to participate in these experiences as well, even if you have little or no background. 

We treat a wide array of cases in house and seek to provide referral level care to our patients each and every time.  We have invested in the tools and knowledge that equip our team to meet the needs of our patients, and welcome your fresh knowledge and insight.  

Our entire team are invested in teaching and supporting our next generation of colleagues. It brings fulfillment to our careers and as a hospital keeps us invigorated.  

We welcome you to join us. No student will be turned away - whether you are a 1st year or 4th, wish to stay for 1 week or 1 month.
