Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic, a southwest Washington practice, has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced small animal veterinarian to join our team.
We’re searching for a doctor who enjoys surgery (GP, urgent care, and/or specialty) and would find fulfillment elevating the services we provide our clients. This summer, we’re welcoming our new Medical Director, who also enjoys surgery and will be a great colleague for mentorship, collaboration, and thought partnership.
This is a full-time role, comprised of four-day work weeks. We currently have 1-doctor and 2-doctor surgery days and see urgent cases and appointments as needed. Our doctors primarily work from 8am-5pm and are provided flexible scheduling + ample PTO so they can truly vacation and have time to enjoy life outside of work. We also have established long-term relationships with relief doctors in the area, so our DVM team can vacation with confidence, knowing their clients and patients are being consulted by a familiar face. We’re also happy to accommodate NO on-call or after-hour emergency responsibilities in this role.
Desired skillset and experience:
Confident small animal doctor with at least 3 years of clinical and surgical experience
Veterinarian who has excellent communication skills (with clients, colleagues, and staff)
Practitioner who is growth-focused and determined to continually expand their medical knowledge/skillset
DVM who is laser focused yet adaptable in urgent care situations
Doctor who leads with compassion and finds fulfillment encouraging others to reach their goals
Additional benefits include:
Generous six-figure base plus quarterly production (no negative accrual)
Exciting bonus program / relocation assistance
NO weekend, on-call, or after-hour emergencies
401(k) options
120 hours of PTO (with rollover)
AVMA PLIT coverage
Professional development assistance
$2,500 annual CE allowance
Paid licensing fees and membership dues
Medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents (with HSA option)
Collaboration with a talented Medical Advisory Board
Medical freedom to practice skills you’re proficient in or explore areas you’d like to learn
Dental mentorship with hands-on training and development with a boarded medical advisor
Investment in your personal interests (charity donation, gym membership, National Park pass, etc.)
Plus more!

Our full-service hospital provides quality veterinary care for small animals Monday-Friday. Lower Columbia is well-equipped with digital radiology, a hand-held digital dental x-ray, in-house lab, a large dental suite, butterfly ultrasound, a new therapy laser, and a fully equipped surgical suite, just to name a few. Our small, yet mighty team is comprised of 2 technicians, 1 receptionist, 3 experienced assistants, and a proactive hospital manager. Our culture is collaborative, open, and transparent, and our goal is to provide the gold-standard of care. We encourage communication, celebrate each other’s successes, and take active measures to develop each team members’ hard and soft skills. We’re currently working toward our AAHA accreditation and are one of the few practices that see same-day urgent cases in the area. We exclusively treat small animals (mainly large dogs and barn cats) and are lucky to have a client base that is dedicated to their pets and has excellent compliance.
