About Us:
Animal Specialty Center is seeking an experienced Full-Time Emergency Veterinarian Service Lead to oversee and guide our hospital’s team of Emergency Clinicians. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, training, and coordinating medical leadership and oversight for all Emergency doctors and staff. The Service Lead will act as an exemplary Emergency doctor and serve as the primary contact for all operating matters of the Emergency and Critical Care department.
The base salary range for this role is $160 - 200K, commensurate with experience, plus a bonus structure and management stipend.

Responsibilities:
• Plan, direct, and coordinate daily activities of the Emergency and Critical Care department
• Work closely with the Hospital Director and Medical Director to create and foster a collaborative working environment for the Emergency department and the hospital as a whole
• Create standard operating procedures for the Emergency Department to promote and generate growth, revenue, and volume
• Oversee the Emergency doctor schedule, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient workflow
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new doctors
• Facilitate regular department meetings and provide mentorship and oversight to both doctors and support staff
• Act as a representative of hospital leadership and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
• Work a variety of shifts to ensure patient care initiatives are upheld and the team is supported
• Maintain a high standard of medical care and professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• NY state veterinary license
• At least three years of experience as an emergency veterinarian, required
• Minimum of one year of leadership experience in a veterinary setting preferred, however we would also be interested in speaking with strong doctors who have an interest in moving into a leadership role
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
